that swirls in fiery rays, immortal goddess, secluded
in the ancient island of Aeaea.

Plant Witch, skilled in the arts
of pharmakeia, you distil
the holy essence of the green fuse
transforming all falsity to true nature.
Veil-ripper, truth-revealer, monster-maker,
you weave the charm that intoxicates
Odysseus’ men, folding them into your herd
of swine.

Lover of Glaucous,
spurned, you turned
Scylla into a sea monster, your sorcery
reveals all truth that is hidden,
that can only be grasped by those
who dare to confront the shadows within themselves.
